On Wednesday, Bank of America customers experienced issues accessing their accounts for several hours. Outage reports surged around 1 p.m. ET, with approximately 20,266 incidents recorded by Downdetector.
Some users reported that their account balances were not visible on the app, while others could access their accounts but saw a balance of $0.
One user commented on Downdetector: “App not working and online banking shows yesterday's balance.”

“Both the app and browser access to Bank of America are still at least partially down for us,” another user reported. “We can now see some of our accounts, but not all. The transfer function between accounts is still not working for any of them.”

Later on Wednesday, Bank of America informed USA TODAY that "these issues are being addressed and have largely been resolved."
"We apologize for any inconvenience," the company added.
